Thurston pub night raises funds for EACH
The Look performs at the fund-raiser for Louis Godfrey which raised more than 10,000
A MUSIC night hosted by the Fox and Hounds in Thurston has raised £10,404 for The Wishes for Louis Fund.
The fund was set up by Louis’s sister Lauren Godfrey and her boss Mandy Ruffles and has raised a total of £13,564 in just 13 weeks.
Louis Butcher, six, was looked after by the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, in Milton, and the family wanted to support its work.
The Thurston night was organised by Lauren, Mandy and Amelia Whetstone, assistant manager at the pub.
Local bands the Nearly Boys, Turning Days, Booty and the Beatz and The Look, played with a disco by DJ Leon plus a charity auction and raffle.
Businesses, friends and customers of the pub helped to make the evening a success, donating auction prizes and offering their services on the night.
Lauren said: “It was a fantastic night and everyone has been so generous. It’s made us realise how brilliant and supportive everyone can be.”
The money raised will be used to fund new outdoor adventure play equipment at the hospice.
