Ross Noble bikes in Bury St Edmunds

Comedian Ross Noble did a stand up turn in The Nutshell in Bury St Edmunds on Tuesday evening when he pulled into town on his bike tour of the country courtesy of Twitter fans.

The comedian was partway through his seven day Sit Down Tour of the UK on a Triumph bike to celebrate the 500,000 bike to role off the company’s production line.

Ross asked bike fans and Twitter followers to send him tips on the best places to stop and characters to meet along the way and Bury was among those nominated.

He enjoyed a pint at the pub and stayed for about 45 minutes before he went off to Café Rouge for a meal and the following morning set off for Royston.

Manager Jack Burton said: “It was certainly good for business as people came along to meet him. We had no idea he was popping in.”

Ross’s bike tour is raising money for Riders for Health and he will be auctioning his one off liveried Speed Triple bike after the tour ends on May 30.

Riders for Health provides motobike transport for doctors to reach innaccessible parts of rural Africa.
