AN MP swapped the benches of Westminster for a seat on a spinning bike this week as he helped a leisure centre relaunch.
Matthew Hancock, MP for West Suffolk, was at Brandon Leisure Centre last Friday to snip the ribbon on the centre’s £500,000 facelift.
The revamp, funded by Forest Heath District Council, has seen the introduction of more than 50 stations, a multi-activity group exercise area and upgrades to the bar area.
Mr Hancock said: “I was thrilled to officially open the leisure centre.
The refurbishment has been a huge success and the opening was very well attended.
“I saw for myself how much use the excellent new facilities will get and they are a very welcome addition to the amenities in Brandon.”
The new gym area will use state-of-the-art Technogym equipment.
