Massive Zumba class nets the money

THREE hours of non stop boogie at the first ever Zumbathon in Bury St Edmunds has netted £2,115 for St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Some 211 brave women and men got into their fitness gear and took part in the giant Zumba class run by eight instructors at CurveMotion last Thursday.

All the proceeds from the tickets went towards the charity effort plus a £5 donation and tired but happy keep fit enthusiasts have asked for a repeat next year.

The proceeds were donated by CurveMotion as part of its efforts for this year’s hospice Accumulator Challenge.

Under the challenge, 52 businesses are working on to make as much for the hospice from a start point of £50. Last year the CurveMotion team won top prize in the challenge.

Joanna Brown, one of the Zumba instructors, said: “It was fantastic – seeing hundreds of smiling faces all shimmying and shaking in aid of a great cause was incredible.”
