Kentwell Hall, a 500-year-old moated mellow red brick Tudor mansion, offers a fascinating day out in Long Melford, near Sudbury.
Widely-known for its recreations of Tudor Life, Kentwell sticks to authenticity when it comes to bringing the past to life.
Generations of schoolchildren have enjoyed dressing up Tudor-style for a day out and visitors during the recreations can discover long-gone industry and farming at work.
Those invovled in the recreations speak in Tudor tongue, live the Tudor life and work as the Tudors did throughout their recreations.
Recently, Kentwell has also started harking back to the days of the Second World War with recreations of Home Guard duties.
The house was bought in 1970 by Patrick Phillips, who has restored it to its former glory and opened it up to thousands of visitors over the years.
Visits to Kentwell can be diverse.
You can visit the farm, enjoy a Tudor banquet or chill out at a summer evening's concert.
Last year, Kentwell welcomed the BBC's Antiques Roadshow and, during the summer months, hosts various open air concerts for all tastes, including the ever-popular Last Night of the Proms.
Its rare breeds farm is home to the Tamworth pigs, Norfolk horn sheep and Suffolk Punch horses all at home in the fields and buildings around Kentwell.
