Jools wows them in the forest
Let's Get Warm said the man and that's just what he did for the packed High Lodge arena audience as they boogied the night away to fantastic numbers from Jools Holland and The Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.
Jules Holland's big band with Dave Edmunds and Ruby Turner guesting soon drove away the chill night air as his gig moved from one exciting performance to the next at the third of this year's summer gigs in Thetford Forest.
The dapper keyboard and blues impresario, well known for his TV series Later....With Jools Holland now in its 33rd year, kept the pace going with some superb solo work from members of the 20-piece band.
Louise Marshall's vocal stint was spectacular as was the drum solo by long-term collaborator Gilson Lavis.
Dave Edmunds reprised the great sounds of I Hear You Knocking and his Sabre Dance while soulful blues from the voice of the great Ruby Turner went down a storm.
There was an unspoken tribute to D- Day as the band performed a Glenn Miller number, so fitting in a place where many US airmen flew in World War Two.
Holland's brother Christopher, band organist and keyboard player, opened the night with his own gig, accompanied by Roger Goslyn on drums. The brotherly connection is unmistakable but Christopher is a talented performer in his own right with several albums out.
Jules certainly had the crowd in the palm of his hand as we all joined in for Enjoy Yourself - that is one thing we certainly did, trees and all.
