It’s a record year for Open Gardens
A VILLAGE in West Suffolk will host its annual Open Gardens Weekend later this month.
Walsham-le-Willows will put on the event during the bank holiday weekend of August 26 and 27.
This will be the 32nd year running that the village has opened its gardens for the viewing public.
This year also breaks the record for the number of gardens opening, with a total of 35 being shown.
John Stebbing, a member of the committee, said: “The gardens are looking beautiful, everything is green.
“They are absolutely stunning.”
The village’s church will play host to a village market, an arts show and an exhibition of vintage clothing.
There will also be live music to enjoy with bands performing at the Memorial Hall, and organists playing inside the church.
Refreshments will be available at both the Priory Room and the Memorial Hall, including light snacks, teas and cakes.
Money raised from the event will go towards the newly-established charity, The Walsham-le-Willows Open Gardens Trust.
Entry tickets cost £6 for adults, and under 16s go free.
