Band Spotlight: The Pure Floyd Show

This band's full sound and all-round quality performance is sure to be a hit with music fans of all ages – especially if you're partial to the sounds of Pink Floyd.

The Pure Floyd Show is hoping to take Cambridge by storm as they play one of their biggest gigs yet – Cambridge Rock Festival on July 17.

The band, with members from Beck Row, Thetford, Methwold, Norwich and Swaffham, first formed in early 2006 but has grown rapidly in the last year, increasing from four members to eight.

The Pure Floyd Show still remains a family affair, with brother and sister Andy and Ruth McNally on vocals and keyboard along with husband and wife Kelly and Mike Cocksedge on vocals and bass.

Other members include lead guitar and vocals Gary Parnell, saxophonist Ross Jarman, drummer Jaspa and rhythm guitarist Andy Rodwell.

To turn their show into a fully-formed performance, they also have four crew members to help with lighting and sound.

Mike said: "We have amazing fun and we mess around, but, when it comes

to the crunch, we are really professional. At the last gig, we had a 10-year-old and a guy who was 80, so it appeals to all ears."

As many pubs can no longer accommodate the intensity of the show, the band are having to look further afield for venues to perform in – their largest performance was for around 5,000 on Melford Common.

They are also constantly coming up with new ideas, including their latest task to project images on to a background screen.

Before the band heads off to Cambridge, catch them play at the Carnegie Room, in Thetford, on July 12, or to find out more, visit www.thepurefloydshow.co.uk
