A ROYAL British Legion Hall in Bardwell will be demolished to make way for nine new homes, if plans are approved by a council .
The development control committee at St Edmundsbury Borough Council is being recommended by its officers to approve the plans when it meets on Thursday.
The hall has been empty since 2010 and prior to that was used for storage for two years.
The parish council has objected over parking, a ‘narrow’ access road, the design of the new homes, and the fact that it is a conservation area.
But council officers said it would enhance the Conservation area, while the design are off high standard, and meet parking guidelines.
