First, we had Mr Ruffley saying he was going to 'fight to the last'. He still hasn't replied to my question about what he means by that.
Then we had Mr Spring hoping some post offices would be saved by opening their books to the county council.

Now we have St Edmundsbury borough councillors asking which the threatened offices are so that they can protest.

As I explained in my recent letter (Bury Free Press, January 11), it is all in the hands of the European Union.

The Government is unable to continue subsidising post offices at current levels, so some have to close.

How much more time are MPs and local councillors going to waste? If they want to campaign on this important issue, they must take their message to Brussels.

I have warned on several occasions that this country is losing its identity and the power to rule itself and this is largely because our elected politicians seem to want to hide the real situation about the EU from us.

It's time they told us why we can't be trusted with the truth.

David Wedgwood, Cowlinge
