NEW recycling bins have been installed in Bury St Edmunds town centre to encourage people to recycle on the go.
Six new dual-purpose bins have been placed at strategic locations in the town and contain separate compartments for recyclable material and waste.
They are aimed at people who may be snatching a coffee, a burger or a canned drink as they make their way through the town. Each bin has clear instructions as to what can be recycled.
“St Edmundsbury residents have proved that they are committed to recycling in their homes and these bins allow us to recycle items on the go,” said Suffolk Waste Partnership chairman Peter Stevens.
Zero waste campaigner Karen Cannard, a supporter of on-street recycling, said: “It is fantastic to see more of these new-style litter bins in Bury St Edmunds.”
