Joy and Terry Frost celebrating there Golden Wedding Anniversary

WHEN Terry Frost first laid eyes on his future wife Joy at the corn mill in Cockfield in 1957, he knew she was the one.

He laughs: “I was driving a tractor with corn up to the mill and I used to see her in the office window.

“I then saw her walking about Bury on a Saturday and I used to chase her around a little bit.”

The pair, of Great Whelnetham, married five years later at Bradfield Combust Church and are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary this week.

Mr Frost, 74, worked at Bridge Farm, in Rushbrooke, before becoming a lorry driver for various companies until 1992.

Mrs Frost has suffered from multiple sclerosis since the age of 21 and has been a housewife most of her life.

Avid football fans, they are season ticket holders at Ipswich Town FC and Mr Frost enjoys bowling at St Edmundsbury Bowls Club.

When asked about the secret to a long-standing and successful marriage, Mrs Frost, 70, said: “It’s just about being happy and loving each other. I love him. You share things and that’s how you keep happy.”

The happy couple were due to celebrate at a party with about 80 family and friends. They have two children and a granddaughter.
