Sports at cathedral

THE nave of St Edmundsbury Cathedral will be transformed into a sports centre next week.

A wealth of activities such as badminton, table tennis and cycling will be held at the historic building for the Festival of Sport on Monday and Tuesday from 1pm to 8pm.

In the cathedral grounds, there will be archery and volleyball.

A sailing boat will be on display and the chance to join a Nordic walk.

It is being organised in partnership with Abbeycroft Leisure and local sports clubs with support from Intersport.

The event is free with donations going to the cathedral and Sport for Rwanda, which provides sporting equipment for Rwandan school children.
