Two performing arts students sacrificed their hair for their art and raised funds for charity in the process.

Gareth Isaacson, 20, and Karl Sturgeon, 19, who study at West Suffolk College, had their hair shaved and their chests waxed last week.

They amassed more than £600 for RETT UK, which supports families affected by the neurological disorder Rett syndrome, and Judith’s 50/50 campaign in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust and Water Aid.

Gareth also needed to change his appearance for the role of Skinlad in a play, The Road, which will be staged at the college tomorrow and Thursday.

Judith’s 50/50 was set up in memory of Karl’s stepmother Judith Lindley-Neilson who died last October.
