SO ACTIVE in partnership with Age UK Suffolk is running a series of activity sessions at Saxon House to help elderly Bury residents reach this target whilst having fun.

People living in Bury St Edmunds are being given the opportunity to get more active with a new club on Moreton Hall.

Every Monday, from 10am-3pm, activity sessions are being held at Saxon House, in Hillside Road, for active people aged 50 and over.

The classes, run by Age UK Suffolk in partnership with So Active, include chi ball, tai chi, the lower intensity zumba gold and otago, which uses chair-based exercises to improve balance and muscle strength to help prevent falls.

Visitors can also take part in arts and crafts, have manicures and try a variety of taster sessions.

Jan Goddard, from Age UK Suffolk, said:“It’s offering people the chance to get out and about and meet people in a friendly sociable atmosphere. It also provides them with the opportunity to participate in exercise in a non-threatening environment.”
