Hospital open day for nurses

REGISTERED nurses who have had time away from working on the wards are being encouraged back into service through an open day at West Suffolk Hospital.

The event, on Saturday, September 22, will give nurses the chance to listen to a brief presentation and talk to others already working for West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

Lisa Nobes, head of nursing, said: “We understand how daunting it can be for a registered nurse who, for whatever reason, has had time away from working in a hospital setting.

“We really welcome a diverse group of staff, but recognise that we need to support them to feel confident to practice effectively.”

The open day is between 10am and noon at the Education Centre at the back of the hospital, in Hardwick Lane, Bury St Edmunds.

Places should be booked in advance by emailing Julie Wiggin at julie.wiggin@wsh.nhs.uk or call (01284) 712747.
