Homes plan exhibitions
Plans to build about 1,000 new homes in Stowmarket will be available to view at several locations following a successful exhibition last week.
The proposals for land at Chilton Leys are on show at Stowmarket Library, in Milton Road, until December 14.
They will also be available at Stowmarket Leisure Centre, in Gainsborough Road, from December 14 to 21. A set of plans has been provided to Onehouse Parish Council.
The exhibitions have been arranged by Mid Suffolk District Cllr John Matthissen after more than 300 people attended a similar event at Stowmarket Rugby Club. He said: “Feedback from local people is vitally important as this is what helps us shape our communities and provides a valuable insight into what is important to residents.”
Cllr Matthissen added that concerns have been voiced about the Chilton playing fields. He said: “I wish to make clear my view that any eventual loss of pitches will need to be preceded by additional provision around the town as well as more pitches and play space for the new residents.”
