Fund-raising with pedal power

ADSA employees in Bury St Edmunds raised money for Riverwalk School by cycling more than 250 miles – in the same place.

Michelle Nobbs, Adrian Mingwood and Cyndi King cycled a total of 275 miles on two exercise bikes set up at the store on Saturday.

The money raised, £275 to match the miles cycled, will go towards giving pupils at Riverwalk School the opportunity to take part in outdoor activities and trips.

Michelle, who is community life champion at Bury’s Asda store, said: “It was exhausting but very good fun.

“The challenge involved sitting on the bike and frantically pedalling to see how far we could get.

“I managed an hour and a half on the bike myself but Adrian and Cyndi did four hours each.

“It is great we have been able to do something beneficial for the children.”

Michelle is looking for other charities who would benefit from fund-raising.

Nomination forms can be picked up by visiting the store on Western Way, Bury St Edmunds.
