Chemist hopes to extend lease
A PHARMACIST who relocated to save his business says the move has proved such ‘a resounding success’ that he wants to extend his lease.
Croasdales already had a shop in Tallou Court, Moreton Hall, but when Mount Farm Surgery, in nearby Lawson Place, won a planning appeal last year to open its own pharmacy, Croasdales owner Nick Cooper took action.
He had an existing lease agreement with the surgery so returned and reopened Croasdales Mountpharm Chemist.
“Prescription numbers showed a significant increase and the patients of the surgery clearly value having an in-house pharmacy,” he said.
On the original pharmacy, re-branded Croasdales Health Centre after a small refit and new range of products, Mr Cooper said: “The store has performed beyond our expectations, with strong support from the local community.”
Croasdales’ lease at the surgery is due to expire in March next year but Mr Cooper has decided to apply for an extension.
Peter Knights, Mount Farm’s business partner, said it would be inappropriate to comment.
