Charity golf day scores well

GOLFERS have raised £8,000 for charity at the annual Havebury golf day.

Some 88 players took to the course at Haverhill Golf Club to raised cash for Focus 12 in Bury, and Haverhill charities for multiple sclerosis, REACH Community Projects and Haverhill Gateway Club.

Havebury chief executive Karen Mayhew said: “ We are thrilled that the event was so successful and that we can donate a substantial sum to each of these worthy causes.”

The housing association has raised £60,000 in the last eight years.
