Bury St Edmunds air cadets are Wing cross country champions
Bury Sst Edmunds air Cadets have become Norfolk and Suffolk Cross Country Champions
Young air cadets from 301 (Bury St Edmunds) have become wing champions for Norfolk and Suffolk in the cross country championships staged at Barnham Camp Thetford.
A team of 15 joined more than 150 cadets to compete in the annual championships.
Victoria Wain and Madeline Byford finished 4th and 8th respectively on a bitterly cold morning.
Cadet Wain will now represent the Norfolk and Suffolk Wing in the regional event.
The junior boys came second and the senior men’s team, won their category.
Sports officer Cl Matt Drewry said: “I was very pleased to take the largest team to the event and the cadets can be very proud of themselves for coming away with so many medals and as overall champions.”
The Bury ATC meets on Tuesday and Friday nights at the TA Centre in Newmarket Road, Bury and currently has 55 cadets.
