Bowls event sets a record
A CHARITY bowls tournament has raised more than £2,200 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The event, held at the British Sugar Bowls Club, Bury St Edmunds, broke its previous fund-raising record.
Teams from across Suffolk entered the tournament, which concluded on September 16.
The main tournament cup was won by Laxfield, who beat runners-up Kessingland, and the plate was won by Marlborough, who beat Combs.
Money raised from the event, organised by Robert Lillistone, of Badwell Ash, will help Marie Curie Cancer Care nurses across Suffolk.
