A record attempt

A MORETON Hall church joined 202 others across the UK in a recent world recording-breaking attempt.

A congregation of 114 people gathered in Christ Church on December 18, in the hope of taking the record for the largest group of carol singers in multiple venues.

The record the singalong, organised by Premier Christian Radio, had to beat was set by Disney and involved 14,100 carol singers in three venues across London in November 2009.

Despite reports the record was broken – with 18,141 participants – a Guinness World Records spokeswoman said: “At the current time Premier Christian Radio has not submitted the evidence to allow us to verify whether a new Guinness World Record has been set.”
