A Rattlesden-based business is offering adventurous tourists the trip of a lifetime across Africa in air-conditioned 4x4 luxury.
Escape Expeditions is the brainchild of James Leggett, a chef who has also notched up six years' experience leading tours across the world's wildest continent.

Mr Leggett said: "I have been taking trips around Africa since 2000 and have also organised expeditions to South America and the Middle East and saw the need for something a little bit different.

"Normally on these types of trip you have 20 or so youngish travellers on big vehicles. We wanted to offer something more upmarket, so all our clients will travel the entire journey in 4x4 vehicles.

"We can go a bit further off the beaten track and they are a lot more comfortable, with air conditioning and leather seats."

Trips range in price from £1,075 for a two-week gorilla safari to £5,000 for a 10-week drive across 11 countries.
