A new bar has opened in Abbeygate Street, Bury St Edmunds, as the town booms with a wealth of new watering holes.
Stone Angel café and wine bar opened with a glitzy launch on Saturday, offering customers a comfortable and trendy place to drink and eat.

Set in the former clothes store of the same name, Stone Angel hopes to tap into the success of a street which the owner believes is on the up.

Karen Bergdahl, owner of the bar, said: "The location on Abbeygate Street is just perfect for us.

"This particular area is getting a bit of a reputation as a great place to eat."

Catering for customers aged over 25, the bar hopes to appeal to young people who want to relax and chat over drinks.

Split over two levels, the venue will act as a coffee shop and wine bar, open from 8am to midnight.

Mrs Bergdahl said: "With the Cattle Market development, the town is really coming alive.

"There is a lot of change going on and I feel there is a place in Bury for this type of venue."
