A young mother from Bury St Edmunds has launched her own company – with the help of The Prince's Trust.
Claire Loader, 21, launched Tums n Toes, a baby clothing party company, after she found it hard to buy reasonably-priced clothes for her daughter, Jessica, now 17 months old.

Claire, of Jocelyn Close, said: "Around Bury there isn't that much choice in affordable clothes for kids.

"I wanted to get baby clothes and sell them in an easy way."

High rates stopped Claire from setting up her own shop, so she decided to try clothes parties in customers' homes, where they can chat and look at the garments.

Thanks to a £1,000 grant from The Prince's Trust, Claire is now raring to go with her new venture.

She said: "At the parties, people can touch the clothes and see their quality.

"They are also quite fun as it becomes a little community where mums and dads can meet up and share stories."

Catering for children aged up to five years, Claire is also thinking about branching into baby showers, where guests can buy presents for the mother-to-be.

She is hoping the convenience and social aspect of her idea will see business begin to bloom.

"It can be a nightmare getting out to the shops with a baby," she said.

"At the parties, we get to have meet up and have fun."
