Richard Wilkins believes his side can take a Ryman League Division One North play-off place, if they are consistent in their final nine games of the season.
The Blues have suffered one defeat – two draws – in their last nine outings and those results have positioned them within touching distance of a top five spot.

The Town team chief believes the key to claiming one of those places is consistency and his side will be looking to prove their credentials when they entertain struggling Tilbury at Ram Meadow tomorrow (ko 3pm).

"We have a lot to play for and we still have a lot to do," said Wilkins.

"I believe that if we put together another run over our final games, we will be in with the mix for a play-off place," he added.

That confidence in his side's potential was confirmed on Saturday, after the Blues had held the table-toppers to a 1-1 home draw in front of a 511-strong crowd.

Wilkins' side showed their ability to bounce back from a disappointing midweek defeat to match, and dominate, the promotion hopefuls who they had defeated earlier in the season.

"We were very unfortunate not to take three points from that game," said Wilkins.

"There were a lot of positives. We responded well to the home defeat and, in the end, no one would have complained had we won.

"We were strong at the back and in midfield and excellent up front. We showed what we are capable of and I now want us to continue to play like that," he added.

The Blues are back in action on Tuesday, travelling to Northwood for a rearranged game (ko 7.45pm).

Mildenhall Town FC made it two successive Ridgeons League Premier Division home wins on Tuesday, defeating Harwich & Parkeston 2-0.

Goals from Owen Paynter and Ricky Campbell, completed a good week for the Recreation Way-based outfit following a 1-0 win against Haverhill Rovers on Saturday.

"Both results came as a result of a good team effort," said assistant manager Tony Lyes.

Other than Paul Musgrove struggling to be fit following a groin injury, Mildenhall are at full-strength for their test at Leiston tomorrow (ko 3pm).

Stowmarket Town FC team manager Louis Newman believes his side may have reversed their fortunes.

The Greens Meadow-based team recorded their second successive Ridgeons League Division One home win on Saturday, defeating Godmanchester Rovers 2-0.

"The last two matches have shown that we are capable of further success which will see us climb further up the table," said Newman.
He added that it was important for the side to finish the season on a high note and that a win away at Long Melford tomorrow would be a boost to his side.

"We now need to consolidate and have belief in our ability," said Newman.
