The Blues must win each of their four remaining Ryman League Division One North contests and to achieve that, they have to defeat in-form Canvey Island at Ram Meadow tomorrow (ko 3pm).

"The next four games are all finals for us," said Town team manager Richard Wilkins.

The Essex visitors have enjoyed a free-scoring week – recording nine goals from their last two outings – and are eager to make it three-in-a-row to consolidate their own place in the play-offs.

The Gulls have a game in hand over their hosts and are a vital point ahead in the race for the coveted spots.

"If there was ever a must-win game – this is it for us," said Wilkins.
"We cannot settle for anything less than a win. Realistically, defeat would end our play-off hopes," he added.

Town followed their 3-1 derby triumph against AFC Sudbury with a hard-earned 2-0 victory away at Waltham Abbey on Saturday, making it three successive wins for the Blues.

"We adapted to very difficult conditions and controlled the second half," said Wilkins.

"It was a professional job – we did what we had to for a win," he added.

However, Town paid a price for their success with Stuart Walker having to be stretchered off the field following a fierce challenge.

The young right full-back was taken to Harlow hospital where he received stitches for a deep cut above his knee.

"It is unlikely that Stuart will be back this season. He will be missed as he has made good progress," said Wilkins.

His absence has resulted in a call-up for defender Sam Nunn, back in action following long-term injury.
