A producer for Boyzone, East 17 and 911 has just released his own album and single after working for 30 years in the music industry.
Phil Harding, who used to teach at West Suffolk College, in Bury St Edmunds, produced an album last year called CARO, featuring Charlie Bachelor, but has since decided to go one step further by releasing his own album.

The Story For Beginners is acoustically based and co-written with lyricist Mila Bogen.

Phil, who lives in Walsham-le-Willows, described the sound as an extension of CARO, except with a male voice, and has had mixed messages from fans of his old material.

The album could not be much further from his old material, working with Kylie Minogue and dance music, but Phil said, although some people were disappointed, they had all wished him well.

Phil said: "The only common denominator is that it is still quite commercial. I have had tremendous support from local radio as I have been travelling all around the country promoting the album. I'm very happy with it indeed."

Phil, 50, has already travelled to Wales, Liverpool and Manchester to play live sets at local radio stations and is planning to play some gigs in Bury St Edmunds in the near future.

The CD took around 18 months to write and he has already hunted out his next project – working with the band Stompers, with whom he used to play.

As well as writing music, he is also in the middle of writing a book called Tales From The Bunker about his time in the recording studio at PWL in the 80s.

The album is available nationwide and on Amazon.co.uk or visit www.philharding.co.uk
