With a new recording under their belts, a band have got a new member on board to help to develop their sound even further.
Luken Layer have been playing all over Bury St Edmunds in the Easter holidays to make the most of their time together.
They have also found time to record a demo, including two new tracks along with their favourite single.
Three members of the band originally got together under a different name, Head Rush, about four years ago but felt they needed a new sound and a change of name to match.
Luken Layer have now been playing together for 18 months, but just three weeks ago they brought on board drummer Lewis Cassey, 18, from Cheshunt, in order to develop their music further.
Vocalist Dan Barnet-Lamb, 21, from Bury, said: "We didn't really have that edge, so when Lewis joined he gave us a new direction.
"Our new tracks still seem quite raw and the sound is incredible, we're all so happy with it. It's nice to have something to be proud of."
Other members of the punk indie band include Dan's brother Jo, 19, guitarist Pete Shepperson, 18, from Bury, and lead guitarist Leo Kyrkos, 18, from Needham Market.
The Easter gigs have proved interesting for the guys as they recalled a recent gig at The Gaff, in Bury, run by Bald Monkey Promotions.
By the end of their set, they were left with just the vocals and Dan playing the cow-bell after the amplifier was switched off, a main lead pulled out and a drum skin had torn.
But this has not put them off as they plan to make the most of a break in the summer and travel further out of the area to get their name heard.
Their newly-recorded tracks include Silence Fillers, Lucy Can Dance and She's Crying All The Time.
Catch them play at Plug It In! at Studio 3, in Bury, on April 11 or to find out more, visit
