A Christian band are getting ready to break on to the band scene with their first charity gig in Bury St Edmunds.
A Failed Perfection have spent more than eight months getting ready to prove to band lovers they are closer to perfection than their name suggests.
The members, who have all been in bands before, are now ready to release their music to the region at their first gig.
Drummer Tris Murray, 22, from Thurston, said they had always wanted to play together, so when the opportunity arose they took it and have now got at least 10 tracks they are happy with.
Other members include guitarist Mike Long, 21, from Thurston, guitarist Ryan Hyden, 18, from Bury, lead vocalist Finn Johnston, 21, from Barningham, and bassist Nath Rich, 21, from Diss.
They have already recorded their first five track EP and have booked gigs throughout 2008, including a top festival in the summer.
Tris said: "Because it's home recorded it's not going to be London studio quality but its good just to have something down on CD of a decent quality."
The gig, on January 17, at the Old Maltings, in Tayfen Road, Bury, will be in aid of a charity which helps the prisons in Uganda after Mike's brother Steve carried out some volunteer work there in 2007.
Their music is influenced by a whole range of bands and they described it as a mix of heavy and melodic tunes.
Finn said: "Obviously, the fact that we are all Christian, that's our drive to do it – it's not unique but I just think in this area there's not really much like this. "We want to use it as our influence and driving force but we don't want it to box us in."
